Klappentext
Emily Bold â Stolen 1: Verwoben in Liebe

Klappentext

„A moving and heartwarming love story perfect for fans of Me Before You and One Day in December.
Leilaâs charm bracelet tells a story of love, a story of loss, a story of hope.
This is the story of her… and the story of Jake.
When Leila loses her precious charm bracelet and a stranger finds it, she has to tell the story of how she got the charms to prove sheâs the owner. Each and every one is a precious memory of her life with Jake.
So Leila starts at the beginning, recounting the charms and experiences that have led her to the present. A present she never could have expected when she met Jake nearly twenty years ago⊓
My opinion
I love charm bracelets! I have two of them, different kinds, and love them both! I wished there was a special memory connected to every one of my charms, just like in The Last Charm.Â
In this novel, Leila lost her bracelet and tells the story of each of her charms to a stranger to prove that she is the rightful owner. Hence, the story consists of a huge number of throwbacks into Leilaâs past, starting when she is a young girl.
It took me a few pages to get into the book because there were multiple stories within it that I needed to relate to in order to fully grasp it. Once that happened, I could barely put the book down, because I desperately wanted to know how the relationship between Leila and Jack would unfold.
The book is beautifully written. It would be an easy, light read if it wasnât so moving and thought-provoking. I would recommend having some tissues close by when reading this!

„Mr. Wright has everything. All thatâs left to give him is what he deserves.
Lark has good things coming: a career as a board-game designer and a whirlwind romance with a handsome investor. Trip is so compassionate and supportive, heâs almost too good to be true.
Jessica has always been cautious, but she canât resist Jonathan. The brilliant TED-talking visionary has big plans for his inspiring medical start-up. Now Jessica is invited to be part of the teamâand to partner with the founder outside the office.
Holly has settled into a comfortable life with Jack, her husband of nearly twenty years. Theyâve raised three children, they own a beautiful home, and theyâve founded a worthy charity. Sheâs proud of building a marriage that has enduredâshe just doesnât want to look too closely at the cracks.
Lark, Jessica, and Holly are three strangers with so much in common it hurts. Their one and only is one and the same.
The charming Mr. Wrightâs serial lies are about to catch up with him⊓
My opinion
This one is tricky to rate. I did not hate it, but I did not particularly like it either.
The bookâs three female protagonists are supposed to be different and yet I sometimes struggled to tell them apart. That is usually a big blocker for me because it indicates how well I can relate to them (hint: not so much).
I liked how the author approached the topic of infidelity, and yet it (luckily) isnât one I can much relate to. The writing was better in some parts than in others, just like the story: During some passages I just needed to know how the story continues, in others I just wanted to finish the chapter. Hm. I think Iâll leave it at that.

„Will all three women have their Christmas wishes come true?
Christmas is coming and best friends Chloe, Jules, and Lucy are needing change⊠so swapping homes for the holidays could be the perfect present for all of them!
Australian Chloe spends her Christmas in a sleepy village in Oxfordshire, England. She is totally star-struck when she discovers who lives across the road.
Lucy, who has jetted off to snowy Colorado for her dream-come-true white Christmas, is taken into the fold of Julesâs loud and brash family, discovering more about herself in a few short days than she has in years.
And Jules leaves the cold climes of Colorado to spend her Christmas on a beach with Chloeâs friends in Melbourne, finding that time away is just what she needed.
The only thing better than one Christmas romance is three, and this wonderful festive novel is perfect for fans of Sarah Morgan, Holly Martin and Karen Swan.“
My opinion
Ohhh I loved Chloe, Jules and Lucy! They decide to swap homes for the holidays, and each go on their own adventure in a place unlike home. As a reader, I needed a while to remember who is who: Where does âsheâ come from and where did she travel to? Who are the people she is surrounded with now and who are they usually friends with? Even during the beginning, when I sometimes lost track, I got attached to the characters. This proceeded throughout the entire book.
I love to see how different groups of people celebrate Christmas in different parts of the world. All the people getting together, facing common family-and-travel issues really got me into a holiday mood!
The right portion of romance clearly helped. And since it is a Christmas book, some instant attraction is not a minus for me. đ
The Christmas Swap is a feel-good holiday novel that I can only recommend.
